The system requirements for the 3rd instalment of the Battlefield franchise have been spotted. Battlefield 3, set to release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on the 25th of October 2011 has already been much discussed by a huge amount of Battlefield fans.

Minimum:
Operating System: Windows Vista or Windows 7
HDD: 10GB
CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible graphics card Nvidia or AMD/ATI
Recommended:
Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit
HDD: 15GB
CPU: Quad-Core Intel or AMD CPU
Memory: 4GB
Graphics: DX11 supporting Nvidia or AMD ATI graphics cards, GeForce GTX 460 or Radeon HD 6850 or better
The game looks to be playable on modest hardware, but the recommended configuration shows that Battlefield 3 will definitely have a demanding side. Another point worth noting is that there is no mention of Windows XP support.

These Requirements may not be true, but they do look like an accurate interpretation of the system needed to enjoy the game.

According to a marketing and advertising specialist Michael Pachter Electronic Arts (EA) will spend upwards of $50 million dollars on advertising and marketing campaigns for the upcoming Battlefield 3 game. He has said that EA will pull out all the stops to make Battlefield successful with EA eying Battlefield 3 as the potential nail in the coffin for the Call of Duty and Modern Warfare series of games.

Although, Michael Pachter has said he doesn't expect Battlefield 3 to spell the end of Call of Duty but it will certainly put a dampener on Modern Warfare 3 sales as Infinity Ward aren't able to match the advertising budget of EA games. The earlier release of Battlefield 3 on the 25/10/2011 compared to Modern Warfare 3 on the 8/11/2011 could potentially also work in favour of EA if the hype about Battlefield 3 is justified.

Battlefield 3 Alpha Screenshots
Electronic Arts and DICE are currently running through the Alpha testing of the Battlefield 3 game before its release in late October and some screen shots of the game have been released onto the internet. The map is "Operation Metro" the same map shown at E3 this year, the screenshots show a full view of the Battlefield 3 HUD and one of the screen shots shows a good look at the server browser list. You can see all the screen shots below:

That is looking more promising than MW3.

all battlefield games are good, altho if your use to the speed and quickness of call of duty then Battlefield will feel very slow. altho BFBC2 had bullet drop on the snipers, so u needed to aim abit above the head for a head shot on long distances. i though was very realistic. i think BB will take the path of BF3 as we like our own servers.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, looks and sounds just like the last battlefield to me, or am i missing something, maybe the graphics are slightly better.

too me it seems like badcompany 2 with a mix of medal of honor 2010 added in. the realism with the stabs looks amazing. gonna be harded to get their tags now.
